Tom Kipp brought his Wiseco Yamaha OW01 to a WERA regional at Indianapolis Raceway Park in April of 1991 to practice between AMA Superbike rounds. It was a good outing for Kipp. He ran the fastest lap of the weekend (1:37.38) on the way to winning the Formula Open race. Kipp also easily won the A and B Superbike races on his Yamaha Superbike. In this photo Kipp is entering the front straight, which doubles as the dragstrip. When it rained no surface in road racing was slicker than snot where the rubber was laid down by drag racing machines at the beginning of IRP’s straightaway.
