MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (May 26, 2012) – The opening round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, from Hangtown was not only a success on the track, but off as well – with record numbers recorded for the Live Stream of the opening motos at AlliSports.com.
Simulcast directly with the live television coverage on FUEL TV, the free Live Stream service provided to fans on the official series website has become one of the Lucas Oil Motocross’ most popular features. Last weekend, the Live Stream delivered 35,000 unique views, along with 35,000 visitors. Additionally, the stream also featured 83,000 live starts via the Main Cam and Kawasaki Cam.
In total, 1.5 million minutes of on-track action were watched, averaging nearly 42 minutes per visit. The total numbers more than doubled last year’s statistics from the Hangtown Live Stream and even generated greater numbers than The Preakness on NBCSports.com, setting the stage for what will be a strong 2012 season
Beyond the Live Stream, the Lucas Oil Motocross microsite also experienced incredible numbers during the opening round, posting the official website’s best day ever in terms of statistics. A total of 314,000 page views led to 75,000 unique visitors and 76,000 site visits. The Video on Demand service, which combines the live player and online video content, boasted 151,000 uses.
In all, AlliSports.com experienced a growth of 87% in overall page views when compared to the Hangtown opener from a year ago.
To cap off the record numbers from the opening round, an additional 250,000 video views were recorded across the AlliSports.com and YouTube platforms.
The AlliSports.com Live Stream for Saturday’s Miller Electric Freestone National, presented by Yamaha, begins coverage of the opening motos for both the 450 and 250 Classes, simulcast on FUEL TV, beginning at 2 p.m. Eastern.
Final moto broadcasts of both classes can be seen via same-day coverage on NBC Sports Network at 11:00 p.m. Eastern.
