Gary Gibson (aka Gumby) crashed during a WERA C Production race at Indianapolis Raceway Park in April of 1987. This sequence is another in the excellent Greg Sickmeier Series. Trust me when I say Gibson was not tempered one bit by this crash, in fact I have a photo of him in the very next race, right back at pushing his bike to the very edge of traction as this shows.

Gary used to sell a ‘Crashing Sucks’ t-shirt, with a picture of him wadding up his TZ250 in the same corner. It was a great shot, with the bike cartwheeling, and what looked like the carbs flying off. It was easy to get sucked into this corner too fast, and once you were off line, it was really sketchy.
