The Moto Guzzi racing machines of Mike Tiberio (60) and Robert Griffiths run side by side speeding down Mid-Ohio’s long straight during the 1990 Circle Bell Pro Twins race. Tiberio finished ninth at Mid-Ohio that day and Griffiths 11th. Tiberio also edged Griffiths in the championship finished the season ranked seventh, three points ahead of Griffiths.
If I took 9th and Bobby 11th, then he probably crashed out while running 2nd. Bobby always had more talent than I and better bikes. The write-up does point out how showing up and finishing can “produce results”. Thanks. I’m stuck at home after heart surgery last week, and your blog made me smile. 1990 Mid-Ohio, almost Sargent Peppers like: “It was 20 years ago today…”

Hey Mike
I’m glad you found your way to the site. Get well soon. Hey, the only thing people can remember these days are the raw results. I’m sure Bobby will be happy for the further explaination.

Thanks for that one, Larry. Mike and his Guzzi hold a “forever” spot in my memory thanks to the beautiful noise they made one afternoon at Nelson Ledges, powering out of the last corner and down the front straight.
Mike, I hope you are recovering well.
