Sam McDonald leans his Yamaha FZ750 Superbike into a turn and kicks up some dust with his knee during a WERA sprint race at Talladega Gran Prix Raceway in March of 1987. McDonald was one of the leading AMA Superbike racers of the mid-1980s. He was likely racing at Talladega that weekend as extra practice in between AMA Superbike events.

(August 31, 2012) - The 11th round of the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, commences tomorrow, September 1, kicking off Labor Day Weekend with the FMF Steel City National. The series’ second visit to Pennsylvania this summer will be showcased with a full day of live broadcast coverage.
First moto coverage of both the 450 and 250 Classes can be seen live on FUEL TV at 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Both motos can also be seen live online at www.AlliSports.com.

For the third year in a row, current 2012 AMA Pro Harley-Davidson Insurance Grand National Championship presented by Motorcycle-Superstore points leader #9 Jammin’ Jared Mees will be offering the “Springfield Mile” fans a Special Hospitality Tent this weekend. Mees, who now holds a 21 point lead in the Series Championship, will have his Rogers Racing Hospitality tent sponsored by “Saddlemen” set up for spectators who come in to the pit walk on Sundays Grand National Mile Race.
This weekend Jared will be hosting the class of 1979 for an autograph session around the hospitality area. The class of ’79 includes Chas Roberts, Scotty Parker, Jackie Mitchell, Tommy Duma, Wayne Rainey, Ronnie Jones, and Lance Jones.
These former flattrack greats, with the exception of Parker and Rainey will be signing the Class of ’79 golf classic posters, raising money for the A.I.R.
