In 1989 Yamaha launched its amazing FZR600. The bike would be the dominant machine of the middleweight production classes in both club events and AMA 600 Supersport racing. In fact Yamaha won every single AMA 600 Supersport race in 1989. But in February of that year Kurt Hall proved that a top-notch rider could still win on another motorcycle. At Talladega Gran Prix Hall won the contingency-paying WERA C Production race over a horde of FZR600 riders. Here Hall leads the race early on his Suzuki 600 Katana. Sean Brehm finished second to Hall on a Yamaha.

The 2011 WMX Series kicks off May 21 at the Rockstar Energy Hangtown Classic in Rancho Cordova, Calif.
