Former AMA Supermoto star Chris Fillmore made the commitment to move over to road racing and his perseverance is starting to pay off. Earlier this summer Fillmore had an awesome race going on a wet Road America before pitching his No. 55 CF Racing/Graves Motorsports-built Yamaha YZF-R6.
Saturday at in the Daytona SportBike race at Topeka, Fillmore turned in an awesome ride and scored a season best eighth, finishing ahead of Roger Lee Hayden on the factory Kawasaki and just behind the Erion Honda factory-backed machine of Jake Zemke.
The 22-year-old Fillmore looks to be the real deal. I covered his career in Supermoto and am thrilled to see him progressing so rapidly in road racing.
